Deciding Factors for Joining the Company

It was the personality of the employees that pushed me to join the company.

When I was about to graduate from high school and was having a hard time finding my dreams and goals for the future, I attended a company social event held at my school. When I happened to talk with Itagaki employees there, I was impressed that I was not nervous at all and could enjoy talking with them as myself. Later, during a company tour, I was exposed to the friendly atmosphere in the company and thought, “I want to work here. I was a little worried because there were many older employees in my welding group, but they taught me everything carefully, and my worries were quickly put to rest.

About the Job

Participate in SNS teams as well as welding

I am now a member of the welding team, which I requested, and am involved in the fabrication of beams and columns for buildings weighing 5 or 10 tons, which is the norm. I was very moved when I visited a construction site during my training period and witnessed a steel frame that I had welded being assembled. I feel proud of my work in creating something that will remain in the future. I am also a member of a social networking team consisting of young employees, where I think about what to post and how to plan events to communicate the appeal of the company.

Company Attraction

A corporate culture that listens to the voices of young people

Everyone is kind and the openness within the company is wonderful. Although the number of female employees working at the factory is still small, when I submitted a request for improvement, “I want to clean up the women's restroom at the factory,” they immediately agreed to renovate the women's restroom. I really appreciate the fact that even a single opinion from a new employee is listened to. Another feature of our company is that we have many company events, such as cherry blossom viewing in the spring, beer parties in the summer, and year-end parties in the winter, which everyone looks forward to and almost everyone gets together. These are the times when I have a chance to talk with my seniors, who I don't usually have a chance to talk with, or take pictures with everyone, and every year I have more and more fun memories. The charm of Itagaki is that we are able to have holidays and switch on and off. I like to go outside and exercise, and there are many things I want to do in my private life, such as being an OG of a women's soccer team in high school and working behind the scenes of a theater company, so I am happy to be able to cherish such time.

Future Goals

Our rivals are our seniors! Aiming to improve welding skills

I am always impressed by the skills of my seniors, who have been with the company for 27 years, but at the same time I feel frustrated with myself for not being able to do the same. On the other hand, I feel frustrated that I am not able to do the same. I want to catch up with my seniors as soon as possible by practicing every day. I would also like to continue my studies in order to achieve good results in welding competitions held outside of the company, in which welding techniques are competed. In addition, there are some tasks that cannot be done without qualifications, so I would like to actively work on acquiring qualifications while taking advantage of the Qualification Incentive Program.
